Recent highlights on the opera stage include Fasolt in a new production of Das Rheingold for Opernhaus Zürich Der Sprecher Die Zauberflöte for the Royal Opera Masetto Don Giovanni and Colline La boheme for the Metropolitan Opera, Colline for the Royal Opera, Mr Flint Billy Budd for the Royal Opera and Madrid’s Teatro Real, Animal Trainer/Athlete Lulu for the English National Opera and Escamillo Carmen for the Glyndebourne Festival. Highlights in the 2022/23 season include Sir Walter Raleigh Gloriana for ENO and Capulet in a new production of Romeo et Juliette for Opernhaus Zürich. David Soar was born in Nottinghamshire and studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio.
